Juicy, savory, and simple enough for a weeknight dinner, this pork tenderloin brings classic Texas comfort to the table without overcomplicating the meal. Texan Heartland Pork & Poultry Seasoning creates a flavorful crust with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, paprika, white pepper, mustard, and celery seed, giving the tenderloin a well-rounded finish that feels both familiar and special.
Ingredients
-
1½ pounds pork tenderloin
-
1½ tablespoons olive oil
-
1½ tablespoons Texan Heartland Pork & Poultry Seasoning
-
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
-
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, optional
-
1 teaspoon honey, optional
-
Fresh parsley, optional for garnish
Directions
Preheat the oven: Heat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
Prepare the pork: Pat the pork tenderloin dry and trim away any silver skin.
Season the tenderloin: Rub pork with olive oil, then coat evenly with Texan Heartland Pork & Poultry Seasoning.
Sear the pork: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the tenderloin for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
Roast until done: Transfer skillet to the oven and roast for 12-16 minutes, or until the pork reaches 145°F internally.
Add a finishing glaze: Stir butter, Dijon mustard, and honey together, then brush lightly over the pork during the last few minutes of cooking, if desired.
Rest before slicing: Let pork rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice and garnish with parsley if desired.
Recipe Note
Pork tenderloin is very lean, so the most important step is not overcooking it. Pull it from the oven at 145°F, then let it rest before slicing. The temperature will settle, the juices will redistribute, and the pork will stay tender instead of drying out.
